Introduction of the new VWHI Home Group Reps
Home group reps: Welcome! Listen for service opportunities that are relevant to your home group and bring the opportunities back to your home group to find people who might be interested in being of service. Please familiarize yourself with the VWHI bylaws – find them at the Reports & Docs tab on vwhi.org.

Announcement from the Chair: Aaron D. | chairperson@vwhi.org
This Valleywide H&I Monthly Business Meeting is different than meetings that we find in AA. Typical AA meetings are scheduled to last one hour but this business meetings typically lasts one hour and 15 minutes. We ask that you stay until the end to show respect to the Intergroups who give their reports at the end of this meeting.

STEERING COMMITTEE REPORTS:
CO CHAIRPERSON: JJ | co_chairperson@vwhi.org
Not much to report for co-chair. Fellow chairperson for Awareness Day – Colby. November 30th is Awareness Day. Call Colby for info on committee meetings – tons of volunteer opps! 480 849 1192
Two other committee members sitting with Colby, you can ask them questions too.

SECRETARY: Katy | secretary@vwhi.org
Tracy motions to accept last month’s meeting months. None opposed.

John S. – if they were posted on the website prior to the meeting, we could review them more thoroughly. Also, it would help give reps the chance to do a better job of reporting what happened at H&I meetings.

TREASURER: Dennis | treasurer@vwhi.org
Discussed treasurer’s report. Also discussed the financial statement. Last month we got everything set up for the Corrections Conference – plane ticket, hotel, etc. Right now we’re at $72k for the year! Reminder – elections are coming up, this position will be open! Question from the body about the budget – Dennis: budget can be found online. Motion to accept treasurer’s report by Harold, seconded. None opposed, motion carries.

LITERATURE: Keith | literature@vwhi.org
This month we spent $6,152.00 on 860 AAWS approved books. We also spent $200.00 on 200 SRI Meeting Lists. Don’t forget the 3rd Annual Corrections Conference, Nov. 1-3, in Houston, Texas.
Elections are coming up. Anyone interested in the literature coordinator position, please see me.
Please have your book order in by Oct. 30th, the last Wednesday of the month.

AWARENESS DAY: OPEN | awareness_day@vwhi.org

WEB SERVANT: Eric F. | webservant@vwhi.org
Last 30 days, 503 unique visitors. Gave total visits. Still people trying to hack us but it’s all good. If you’ve been to the site in the last two weeks or so there have been some aesthetic changes. Will make some updates tonight. Now that Awareness Day has been confirmed, I’ll add it to the site. You will be able to buy tickets on the site.
Question from the body about August steering committee meeting minutes; steering committee meeting minutes must be approved
Question from the body about the Group Inventory, if it happened: Tracy – hasn’t happened yet, will be on Nov 17th. We haven’t discussed the agenda yet so unsure

Bruce – MCSO has been shut down since Friday, went down there but no one there.
David (Tower coordinator) – got an email about the shutdown but date changed from Tues to Thurs of this week. Forgot to text.
Bryan – 4th Ave Coordinator – forwarded email to his meeting people but sounds like some people didn’t get it.

OLD BUSINESS:
1) Open positions:
Awareness Day Chair (member of steering committee; 2 year commitment – until December 2019; 2 year sobriety requirement; 1 year H&I experience preferred)
Lewis Coordinator (coordinator position; 2 year commitment – until December 2020; 2 year sobriety requirement; 1 year H&I experience preferred)

NEW BUSINESS:
1) Volunteer Coordinator (coordinator position; 2 year commitment – until December 2020; 2 year sobriety requirement; 1 year H&I experience preferred)
Anthony – wants to stand – qualified. Tracy makes motion to accept by acclimation. Harold seconds.

2) John thinks it would be useful to have the meeting minutes posted prior to next meeting. Discussion around pros and cons.
I move that the draft form of the meeting minutes be posted on the vwhi.org website two weeks after the meeting and that version we replaced with the approved minutes subsequent to the next meeting.
Seconded by Bruce. Aaron calls for vote. Motions fails. We can table for further discussion at steering committee.
Question from the body about reason for motion.
