CHAIRPERSON: Debbie C | chairperson@vwhi.org   Keeping open position emails up to date for responses. Covering for Tina (Secretary) Amy-Lu, she is only known as the woman’s coordinator for Federal, I spoke with Mel F and he handles the men’s sections. So, he will inform Amy-Lu on any changes to the status quo for the men’s side. He doesn’t want to write reports for us.

LITERATURE: Tim G| literature@vwhi.org no Issues Recv’d two pallets of books recently, Q. If he got living sober, he will check and advise.

TECHNOLOGY CHAIR: Jose | webservant@vwhi.org

AWARENESS DAY: Lu| awareness_day@vwhi.org Looking for venue in the east valley possibly in Scottsdale. In April first meeting for 2/12/2024 Jose will create zoom room for meeting.

TREATMENT CHAIR: Dona| treatment_chair@vwhi.org Plans on a private traing on 2/2/2024 Having issues placing some of the individuals that were in the First training class Service load issues.

CORRECTIONS CHAIR: Lu | corrections_coordinator@vwhi.org   Lu Received new form online for applications still not sure which TB test is going to be omitted in the future  Once the form is filled out and course is completed and signed it will go directly to HR AZ corrections for approval no replacement for Daniel yet. Was asked by Eyman /Florence coord if John S could be allowed to take a meeting in . Shawna stated that the prison was the ones who rescinded his badge so any requests must go through them. We cannot approve it or deny him.

SERVICE LIAISON: Regina|service_liaison@vwhi.org Had the opportunity to work with a group that had no H&I rep. via the AFI intergroup. Would like to change positions to secretary, was advised she needed to be voted in during the February business mtg.

OLD BUSINESS:

  1. Tabled until new system allows the possibility Birthday club – Jose – any updates Awaiting 501.3c status. Working on a web provider that support our needs.
  2. Tabled Group Inventory-until next rotation 2024. (Shawna)
  3. Tabled Bylaws committee Status: Tabled until next rotation 2024. No changes yet
  4. Move meeting location? Dona checked with SRI, But they have a meeting at the required time.We will pay church monthly if allowed. Debbie will check for a location in Tempe On New year’s found that location unavailable do to a meeting at 630 pm
  5. Clean up any open business issues. No issues.
  6. Clean out your emails for the next rotation-training your replacement if it is not you. Most of the open emails have already been done.
  7. Open positions Treasure, The person who is thinking about it is still thinking.
  8. Changing the hospitals East and West. to treatment East and West Coordinators Assigning volunteers to coordinators will be reexamined by treatment chair and chair. as well as splitting the newcomer and volunteer coordinator into two positions, workloads have changed. Since covid.
  9. Retiring community Bridges East and West until we have been asked by them then include them under the west and east coordinators. For right now it was agreed to do so. (to be announced in business meetings.
  10. Federal’s coordinator only handles the woman’s side yes, or No? Debbie will call Amy-Lu and find out if this is true.
  11. Regina asked questions for clarifications with regards to online and the training.
  12. Training on 1/9/2024 Dona has set up training for 1/9/2024 at 6 pm before the business meeting. Must set up room by 5:45 pm.
  13. Absent coordinator Replacement: Discussion about the length of time before an absent coordinator that has not been reporting in the last 3 months should be replaced. BTG has not been reporting in the last 3 months. It was stated 3 times which because they are not normally filled by us and they have both treatment and correctional ties, They need to be contacted before they are removed and replaced.

  1. Welcome to our new treasurer Felicia!
  2. Secretary (Open) As a good chairperson I will be using the secretary’s computer to do the reports and run the business meeting until we get a new secretary.
  3. Computers Jose please keep the chairperson’s computer for now.
  • Deferring the open positions with “community bridges east and west’. Can we also include juvenile? Jose, can you remove these positions from the contact list? I am still cleaning out the west box.
  • Open positions BTG, Secretary, Watkins & TOWERS – ESTELLA, LOWER BUCKEYE
  • Lu did Bruce (Amy Oliver) and Jay (sponsorship letters) call you? Yes, talked with Bruce No Jay has no checked with her yet.Also, can you check in with Alan he was a no show and no report sent?
  • Group Inventory un-table! Retable for 6 months
  • Meeting locations East valley anyone have any suggestions. Mt Carmel Shawna was asked to contact them.
  • Federal Coordinator I advised Amy she needs to report for both sides, Prior to my call she was only doing the woman’s side so Mel is the coordinator for the men’s side. I asked her to report for both sides, which she has done so far.
