Q:What service opportunities are there?

A: There are many opportunities for service work with H&I. The most popular way is to chair or support a meeting at a hospital or institution.

Q:How much sobriety do I need to participate?

A: In most cases, there is no minimum sobriety requirement. However, you will need to speak with the coordinator for the specific service area to find out for sure. But if you are really interested in doing service work, we will absolutely help you find a commitment.

Q:Can I get involved if I have a record?

A: In most cases, there is no stipulations concerning past legal problems. However, there are some cases, such as clearance with prisons, where you will need to speak with the coordinator for the specific service area to find out for sure. But if you are really interested in doing service work, we will absolutely help you find a commitment.

Q:What kind of commitment is required to participate?

A: Coordinators usually prefer volunteers that are able to make a commitment of some kind, but we realize that is not always possible. Your involvement can be anywhere from a one time meeting attendance, to a long term commitment of chairing a meeting.

Q:When and where are H&I meetings?

A: H&I business meetings are on the second Wednesday of each month at the Central Church A United Methodist Community (east dinning room).  1875 N Central Ave. Phoenix AZ. 85004 The meetings start at 7Pm and usually last about an hour. All are welcome to attend. More Info

Q:How do I get Involved?

A: To get involved, you can join us at our monthly business meeting and let us know you are looking for service work. You can also contact the H&I chairperson or any of the coordinators here and we will be happy to help!
